Friends and families near and far help keep this ancient synagogue open, lit and full of prayer and learning. A sponsorship can mark a simcha, honour someone you love, or remember a soul.

Ways to take part

Shabbat kiddush

Sponsor the kiddush after Shabbat morning prayers, for a simcha, a yahrzeit, or simply in gratitude.

A day of learning

Dedicate a day of Torah study in Maran’s synagogue, in someone’s name or for a blessing.

In memory of a loved one

Remember a soul on the yahrzeit with prayer and learning. The gabbai can advise on the customs observed here.

Maran’s hilula, 13 Nisan

Take part in marking the yahrzeit of Maran, Rabbi Yosef Caro, in the synagogue that bears his name.

Care of the synagogue

Help with upkeep: the lamps, the holy books and the ancient building itself.
