Karo was a preacher as well as a judge. His sermons and short commentaries on the Torah, on the Song of Songs and on Pirkei Avot were printed after his death in Salonica, in collections that brought together the derashot of several sages (one is known as Or Tzaddikim, another as Oz Tzaddikim).
