A short work on the methodology of the Talmud — the rules by which its discussions are read and its conclusions reached. Karo wrote it as notes on Halichot Olam by Rabbi Yehoshua HaLevi, the classic introduction to Talmudic method, and it was printed together with that work in Salonica in 1598. It is sometimes called Kelalei HaGemara.
